V.E.R.A Clique (Very Essence of Real Artists): Macsen Apollo & Anderson Ray, two friends that met in Bend, Oregon at a local club. Anderson, originally from L.A., happened to see Macsen rapping and stepped up to the mic himself. Thus began the formation of "The Clique".
Why this name?
Anderson Ray: We chose this name at a Hip-Hop battle that was fixed (DONT YOU HATE THAT!!!) because I felt that as far as real subject matter goes, we were the very essence of real artists!!!!!
Do you play live?
Macsen Apollo: We've proformed at a few clubs in San Francisco as well as a a grip of various high schools across the Bay Area.and we've done a bunch of shows in Portland,OR and Bend,OR We're starting small now but really, we're trying to take this thing all across the world.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It puts music out there for new talent. It's cutting out the middle man and making it all about the artists and the fans.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal was fair and we, as a group, were satified. We would have to maintain full, 100% ownership of our masters, copyright, publishing, royalties, and most importantly, full creative control.
