Headz Up is VerseAtyle a.k.a D-Mo, Sean Juan an CoMpLeX. Right now we still tryin to get everything together, because we real serious about getting put on. All this gunplay in raps an sh*** ain't hip-hop, yeah the sh*** is aiight for braggin an shit, but I ain't wit all that. When i go back an listen to Nas Illmatic or Jay's Reasonable Doubt you hear some a' that sh*** but you hear lyrical prowess as well, sh*** that makes you think. Thats how i want our first album to be, not all this sh*** we don't do and guns we don't buss. It's plenty other topics we can hit on, and still manage to put out a hood' banger and some "back-pack rap" type shit. As long as we develop as eMcee's its gully, ~One~
Why this name?
Headz Up is just a name, i'll think of something deeper somewhere down the line.
Do you play live?
No live acts as of yet, we do freestyle often and against any challengers we will battle , so thats live, but officially no shows.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows you to get what you have out to the public. The internet gets you instant feedback and this way you learn who your audience is and how you can appeal to them.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course, thats what every artist goal should be , because this neighborhood sh*** only lasts for so long. The industry is what pays the bills.
