Our music draws it's inspiration from Mr. A. Quayle's wonderful art.
You can see some of his pictures at www.angelfire.com/ak5/siltfish You'll need to persevere through all the pop-ups and turn to the gallery page for that.
That site is designed to give an insight into what Silt Fish is all about, so I refer you to those pages for more details.

Why this name?
AK:
After enduring years of derision under the name "The Two Andrews" - people would invariably say, imagining themselves the first to do so: "Oh, a bit like The Two Ronnies". How we laughed. So we changed it, naming ourselves after one of Mr. Quayle's poems.

Do you play live?
AK:
We do not play live, ours is home-made music.
There aren't enough of us to play this kind of stuff live, we'd need to hire an orchestra-sized band of musicians who'd do exactly what we told them to do. I don't think such a body of people exists.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
AQ:
The internet has been the most significant development in the democratising of music-making and distribution. We would encourage anyone haunted by a musical vision to join the global creative community.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
AK:
Yes.
Yes.
Band History:
The story began in the distant past, in a place called Chancet Wood, a small expanse of wilderness on the edge of Sheffield. Undeterred by our inability to perform the simplest of tasks, we embarked upon an ambitious musical adventure. Initially inspired by a variety of sources, ranging from René Magritte to Ken Dodd, we became a pop group.
Your influences?
AQ:
The ‘Black Rider’ by Tom Waits and ‘Monster Walks the Winter Lake’ by David Thomas and the Wooden Birds.
