Just another guitarist trying to do something with himself.
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
Yes I play live, mostly in the East San Francisco Bay Area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great that music is so much more accessible thanks to the internet and the mp3 format. Musicians can get themselves out there without the old chore of having or waiting to be discovered by a label.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure thing. I'm multi-media friendly.
Band History:
The Johnny Pickett Band, Last Call Band.
Your influences?
Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler John Williams, Mason Williams, Leo Kottke, Jackson Browne, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jim Croce, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Nobuo Uematsu, Imahori Tsuneo, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, John Martyn, David Bromberg, the list goes on and on and on.
Favorite spot?
I don't have one yet.
Equipment used:
PA and a 57' Twin. Various guitars.
Anything else...?
I really get annoyed looking for new and creative takes on old music on here, just to find a plethora of mediocre guitar players wailing away and overplaying every trick in the book to some crappy midi backing track. Same could be said for the teenage girls completely oversinging a tune to the point of it sounding like total garbage. Slow the F down is all I have to say about all that.
