Ardell is a rap artist like no other. His lyrics are written straight from the heart, based on personal experiences- good and bad. Never glitzy or watered down, his songs speak to people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, with a combination of skillful, intelligent lyrics, and jammin' beats that have been described as being more "musical" than most of today's cookie-cutter beats.
Why this name?
The name my Mama gave me. It's worked fine for me up 'till now, so why fix what ain't broke?
Do you play live?
I rap at concerts and special events in our area. Some of my songs receive regular airplay at local radio stations.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows more people to get their music heard by more people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I am signed to an independent label, Platinum Sound Records, owned by my producer Chris Garrett. We are currently looking for a bigger label to discuss the possibility of a pressing and distribution deal.
