Downtown Jupiter is a group with a vision of furthering the development of authentic Hip Hop. Fusing the underground's sound with experimental Hip Hop, we come up with intellegent music thriving with creativity. We cover government and commercial conspiracies...but don't get it twisited we still spit about what we feel in every aspect of our culture. Word Life.
Why this name?
Downtown Jupiter is a mindstate. Downtown for the urban style of not only our group but our culture as well. Jupiter for the ability to think outside of the box or out of this world so to speak. It also has to do with the idea of living on another planet and with no worries of the the corruption on Earth. There's more involved with the name, but i'll keep it short for now.
Do you play live?
We play live around Orlando, FL at least once a week. We live for, go to school for, and gathered together here for music, so we enjoy it to the fullest.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has changed the music industry more than any other medium ever since the creation of the phonograph. The industry is struggling to come up with ways to keep their customers buying albums. The new generations are easily signing online and downloading anything they wish. I can go on forever about this subject...which I do in my lyrics.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, exposure is choice.
