We're an experimental, progressive rock band from Columbus, OH. If you're into music, give us a listen, check it out, download the music, burn it, give it to friends.
Why this name?
It means freedom from body and mind, and I think that's how you should feel when you listen to music, completely free.
Do you play live?
Soon, we still have a couple of gliches that need adjusting like 3 new members...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It helps, ALOT. I mean if there were no mp3s how would people out of your city get to hear or know about your band. FREE PROMOTION!!! Hell Yeah.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly, It depends on the stakes, most bands that go with a major label get screwed overall, so maybe, not sure.
Band History:
Ataraxy began as a band in late 2003. With only one show, (Halloween "03") to their name, they are still realitively unknown. Soon they are going to take the local rock scene by storm. Because of Jasons love for Pink Floyd and Incubus, and Jimmys love for Glassjaw, and local rock scene heroes Capitol Tragedy, their blend of music incredibly unique. Currently Jason and Jimmy are in John Schwab Recording Studios, recording they're debut concept album "The Silver Spectrum"
