It was way back '95, a rainy day in August when Citric Maple was formed out of obscurity. With the overgrowing popularity of band music then, this band just wanted what all the other bands wanted: TO BE HEARD!

They first played at Club Dredd with a busted guitar, a beat-up worthless voice and a former drummer named Herb. They (the vocalist) sucked then. Their second gig was even more disastrous for they were running around the stage so much that the management thought they were out to destroy the place. (They are in fact marooned aliens from the Planet of the Nerds.)

Citric Maple consists of Kiko Tuazon who frequently likes to skateboard. He pisses off the neighbors by jumping over their fence. Mark writes about the intimacies of death and man and getting laid and likes to have sex with his guitar. Red Moyano who likes to stay late at night watching the dark sky(former bass guitarist "Lord Monster" Moya collects useless things and makes them even more worthless). On ordinary days you'll find these guys bumming around, role-playing games or at an "eat-all-you-can" deal for P140 bucks where they commit gluttony. But when its time to strap on the guitars and bang the drums, its a different story. The stage for them is a drug that easily enters their system. It's an adrenaline rush that hounds them to the very end of the show. Expect death-defying feats of stage antics (Don't they feel pain?). When you watch them you either wanna scream for more or just kill them.

The original intent of Citric Maple was to jam all day to keep all the worries away. But that intent became an obsession as soon as they found out that they weren't just bums but musicians eager to get into the music scene. With the noise and energy of Green Day and the inanity of The Presidents of the USA, they define their music as Semi-Punk, Grunge-inflicted, New Wave Power Pop (whatever that means!). All three members sing. They are in fact one of the few local bands that actually make use of three-part vocal harmonies. But let's not label the music. Just listen to it and (hopefully) like it.

The band is not of names or nonsense but what they feel is their own kind of music. It's in their performance though, which they feel is just as important as the music-writing, that the band shows its spunk, attitude and personality.
