I am not your average rapper. I do not abide by the rules of commercialism, nor do I follow what's "trendy" or "popular" at a particular moment in time. I'm a custom blend of every lyrical influence I've ever absorbed, from rap to rock, from R&B to pop, and everything in between. If a single person can relate to a single song that I've written then I can rest assured that my struggle in life has not been in vein. I love every single person who supports me and my music, and I will continue to try to change the face of music as long as the face needs a lift.
Why this name?
Something that is arcane is only understood by few. I consider myself understood by few at this point, but hopefully people will relate to the lyrics I write and I will be understood by many.
Do you play live?
Anybody wanna do a show? Hit me up. I can do live as long as there's equipment to play the beats.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the Internet and mp3s are great. If it wasn't for the Internet I never would have been exposed to such a great amount of music and all of the free demo beats I used to cut tracks to.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It all depends on what I'd be getting out of the deal. It would have to do something for me that I can't do for myself.
Band History:
Was born and raised in Stevens Point, a city of about 26,000 people in the middle of Wisconsin. The city is not known for its hip-hop culture, but I'm doing my part to change that. I've been doing this rap thing since I was 17 - that was back in 2000 - and I've come leaps and bounds since the days of sampling, beat-jacking, and home-recorded demos. I currently record in my home studio, whereas I used to record at Sleepless Nights Studios in Madison, WI w/ my engineer, Danny Davis, w/ whom I finished my first full-length, professional studio album, "Identity". I am now in the process of producing, writing, and recording for my current work in progress entitled "My Reflection". I'm looking at a late spring / early summer release date.
Your influences?
I am very much into a lot of rap and a lot of rock. Hints of both genres are very prevalent in my music. Style-wise I would have to say that I am most like Mike Shinoda, who is the emcee in Linkin Park, although I don't feel he will ever quite meet his potential as I believe I will meet mine. Other rap influences on me include Eminem, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., etc (I learn from the best). On the rock tip I channel a lot of Linkin Park, Evanescence, Edwin McCain, and Kid Rock. There are too many bands to name.
