Cryptic Souljahz

The Cryptic Souljahz group consists of NJ based rappers; Skitz,Mabus, and Stray. They formed the group back in 2004 and never looked back. Skitz comes from the long time group the Dead Town Click, which broke up in 2003. He was also known for his solo work. Mabus became close with Skitz back in 2003, and Skitz gave him an oppurtunity to rap on his label. Then in 2005 Stray hooked up with the Souljahz and that sh*** was on. The Souljahz have 4 albums from when it was just Skitz and Mabus, and now the new trio are working on a brand new album for 2006.
Why this name?
"Cryptic" represents our record label, Cryptic Melodies Entertainment. "Cryptic" also represents that we do wicked rap. We chose "Souljahz" because our group is very influenced by war. Ya put 'em together and ya get "Cryptic Souljahz"!
Do you play live?
We would love to play live but not yet given the oppurtunity. If we really wanted to, we would just book a venue and do show. But right now it's not a top priority.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well for undergound musicians like ourselves it really helps us. Without the help of the internet we would be restricted to only appealing to fans in our state and local area. With the internet anyone could stumble upon our music and that's the shit.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We would jump at any deal given to us. But just like the touring question, it's not a main priority. If we really wanted to be signed we'd be sending out demo packages, and bustin our asses to achieve it. But for right now we're content with being small and local, until we start a real buzz.
