Someone said my music sounded like Eric's Trip and Julie Doiron. It's guitar and/or piano based pop, sometimes bluesy or country-ish. The sound I'm trying to achieve is gritty, barebones, and honest.
Why this name?
Mom & Dad picked it out.
Do you play live?
Watch for me at open mic nights in Toronto.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Hmmm. If I give someone an MP3 for free, and they like my music, then I win. If I have a CD for sale, and someone burns a CD of it for 10 of their friends, well, if some of those 10 people go out and buy another CD, then I win again. If someone is selling burned copies of my CD outside my gig, then that's different.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Lemme get an audience first. I already have a job. :)
Band History:
I've played piano since I was a kid, picked up the acoustic guitar last year and started writing music. I started getting clear song ideas & started putting them to work.
Your influences?
New Order (influence present-day music in many ways)
Barenaked Ladies (energy)
John Mayer (to the point lyrics)
Broken Social Scene (out of disconnectedness comes order, being in tune with your subconscious)
my grade 10 English teacher, for teaching me that an essay has stuff that only relates to the thesis. Having a thesis is good in other things than just English class papers.

Favorite spot?
Right here.
Equipment used:
I have a Yamaha DX7II that I program, a Roland JX3P, and an Ensoniq Mirage that I have lost the manual for, and a Clavinova. I have a white Ibanez GT bass that I bought during university. Oh yeah, and a black Washburn acoustic guitar that I started playing after John Mayer's March 2004 show in Montreal.
Anything else...?
