Some personal quote's of mine......"Live life to its fullest, its all good as long as it does not hurt another" and "Be honest and believe in everything that you do, the payback and rewards of doing this are great!" In saying that, turn up the volume and rock on!

Why this name?
I came up with "Coolredguitar" to use as a screename in yahoo messager around the year of 2001 when yahoo provided music rooms for people to jam in. At that time I had just bought my red flametop Peavey Wolfgang and thought it was a cool looking guitar.
Do you play live?
Not anymore, just home recording for now.
Looking back, my favorite gig that I remember was at a local live outdoor event in the early 90's called "Jimmy's July Jam" that is held every year in Sparta Georgia. The band that I was in at that time was called "Hollow Fox" and our payment for playing that night was free beer and bar-b-que. I think we consumed much of both that night!..LOL The place looked like a mini Woodstock as it was tent and camper city out in the middle of the boondocks. Our band was #2 on a set of around 7 bands that night and the crowd consisted of up to 4000 people. We rocked that place, the crowd was awesome and the memories of that jam are still fresh in my mind. Another gig I that will never forget was with the same band that was held for a Christmas party for a company that I used to be employed with called Denon Digital Industries (DDI). DDI manufactured compact disc's for many of the major labels and alot of the label executives of DDI's customers were in the audience for that party. The president of A&M Records who happened to be a friend of DDI's VP of sales was in the crowd that night. This resulted in our band getting an album of our original songs recorded at a famous recording studio in Athens Georgia (hometown of REM and the B52's) and mastered by A&M Records. That was a totally unexpected favor and alot of fun to do. I would also like to mention that my guitar playing would not be where it is today if it were not for my luck of being in a band with a very good friend of mine named Paul Reid III. I learned alot about playing guitar from Paul who is an excellent guitarist and was the audio engineer for Denon Digital Industries before they closed shop. In addition to great guitar playing, Paul was nominated for a grammy award a few years ago for engineering and re-mastering new releases of the great jazz tracks of Charlie Parker that were originally recorded onto acetate dics's for the Savoy Jazz label. All in all, my musical experience and the musicians that I have had the pleasure to jam with has been very great for me.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is a blessing for the independent musician and artist.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Lets not go there! lol
Band History:
I played guitar in numerous bands in the 90's up to 2001. The styles of music included classic rock, hard rock, funk and blues. Since then I have only been jamming and recording at home.
Your influences?
There are too many to list. Lately I have been enjoying listening to Joe Bonamassa and Philip Sayce. Ultimately I would say my favs in the past have been David Gilmour, Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere with my family. They make any place I visit a favorite spot as long as I am with them.
Equipment used:
Blackstar HT5, Marshall JCM900 MkII Model 2100, Peavey 5150II and Peavey Classic 30 guitar amps. PRS, Fender, Ibanez and Peavey electric guitars. Alvarez acoustic guitars. Yamaha and Korg hardware synths. Numerous Vst soft synths and plugins. KRK Rokit 8 and JBL 4311 studio monitors. Some gear that I used to own in the 90's and was a fool for selling or trading..lol...Marshall JCM800, Marshall JTM50, Gibson 65 SG, 90's Gibson Studio Les Paul, Late 60's Gibson Firebird, 1972 Fender Strat and Fender 57 Reissue Strat. Don't know what I was thinking when I sold those...lol
Anything else...?
Thanks to all who take the time to listen to my music. Your visit is much appreciated!
