Morke Helvetes possesses elements of Black Metal and Classical musick.Darkness enriched, and sinisterely wrought, the songs possess dark sinister atmosphere and melodic qualities.Wretching guitars, torturous vocals, skullcrushing drums, and haunting keyboards lie within such songs as 'The Imperial Arts of thy Madness','Dreadful Masquerade','A Deathly gaze Upon the Stars',and so forth. These songs will soon be posted.Feel free to listen to them. -l-
Do you play live?
No live shows have been played as of yet,but it has been greatly considered as a future possibility.Live musicians are,of course, quite neccessary for such a thing, but there has been talk of an arrangement concerning that..
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I have no problem at all with mp3's.What I Do have a problem with however, are people who refuse to condone them, mainly those who are in bands which are, much like mine, quite underground. When you first start a band, and create a demo cd,you want to send it around, and give copies out,to those whom you think would be interested. The common courtesy of letting others hear your creations via means of 'mp3' ..is quite the same,in my opinion...even if that means not using the entire song, but maybe a minute long sample of one,if need be..But I see nothing wrong with having *Some* form of option to hear the musick before, perhaps buying the entire cd.And as many others will say, which I agree with,I am sure that even with major label bands, the use of mp3's regarding them,I am Sure nary puts a dent in the 'music industry'.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Never.I consider my creations to be purely of my own therefore I would not want some 'major' label requiring me to change any aspects of it to suit Their needs.
An Independent Underground label,Yes..A major label? No.
Band History:
Morke Helvetes was originally started in August of 2000.Originated by Suspira and Skein Funeral, the band was originally a 2 sided effort.Suspira wrote all keyboards as well as some guitars and additional vocals.A few months later,Osiris was brought into the band to add additional vocals to new and existing songs. This concept did not last too long,as contact with Skein was temporarily lost and remains currently at a hiatus, more or less.It is unknown whether Osiris will continue to pursue working with Morke Helvetes, but that too is quite possible.

After such events,Morke Helvetes became more of a solo effort of Suspira, currently taking on all songwriting and lyrical efforts.

However, recently a drummer has also been aquired.New songs are in the process of being written, and the song you will find here is a song that has been newly completed.Hail!

Suspira has been playing guitar for 9 years, having learned both traditional and Classical styles of guitar. She has played keyboard for roughly 7 years. As a self-taught keyboardist she uses classical techniques and instrumentations in her writing style. Also using the techniques of both 'traditiona' black metal vocals, as well as clean, slightly operatic vocals.

After first starting Morke Helvetes, she also worked briefly with the North Carolina band Omniscient as their keyboardist. This however, didn't go much further than writing an intro for their first demo, and playing shows. At the same time, she played keyboards for another band with some friends."Catheter of Thorns" was a doom/black/death influenced band. This band lasted well over a year before everyone called it quits, due to a few personal reasons with various members.

Suspira has also worked with Crimson Massacre,of Houston,TX,writing and recording all keyboard tracks on their demo as well as travelling to play shows with the band in TX and New Orleans. This, however, proved to end up as more of a wasted effort,as the band ended up abandoning their original sound, and thus had no longer,a need for keyboards.Currently, her work is more concentrated into Morke Helvetes, but that is not to say, that she is not willing to take on future endeavors.
