Carboard Cyndi is a group of nice boys that have grown up listening to the super groups of the radio. We all like our own strange styles of music but Pop Rock always is the center focus for us. Some of the best music came out in the late 60's and early 70's... bands knew how to play and write then... we miss that in today's music... we ROCK and love to write good songs.
Why this name?
It came from a lyric in "Deep Six Holiday". It sounded cool, and there is a classic stroy behind that name too... so it worked!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, it's all about money and the majors (If they love your music) will push you into super fame!
Your influences?
our musical background is all over the place. I think that's what is so cool about our sound. Just about every band has had some influence on each member. Good Musicians, Led Zep, Beatles, Foo's, Elton, Lennon, Radio Head, Great Songwriters, Costello, Toto, Elvis, 3EB, Cold Play, Nirvana, etc...
Favorite spot?
Greenland, we like it cold.
Equipment used:
Analog 2" tape, Pro Tools and Logic Audio. Other fun stuff include: Reason, Anything Native Instruments, Linn 9000, Roland gear, POD's, Les Pauls, Lakland, Fender, Tom Anderson, blah, blah, blah...
Anything else...?
We hate the over use of Auto Tune and Quantizers, we need real feels and funky pitch again... not bad and out of tune or time.. but natural playing like the great records of the past.
