99 Hooker is a poet from NYC, Ernesto Diaz-Infante a multi-instrumentalist from San Francisco bay area, and Rotcod Zzaj (aka Dick Metcalf) an "odd-ist" from Olympia, Washington. We play some of the most "out" poetry/improv combinations you've ever heard!
Why this name?
Just the names of the artists involved.
Do you play live?
Yes, particularly 99 Hooker & Diaz-Infante (these 2 have played in numerous venues over the last year, & plan a tour of Europe in the fall). Zzaj played live with them (and the rest of an avant-garde group called the Abstractions) at the 2002 Olympia Experimental Music Festival
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music like this would NEVER be exposed to the public ear if it weren't for this technology
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We doubt any "major" would ever inquire about such... but if they DID, we'd collaborate on our answer, to be sure
Band History:
This group grew from earlier collaborations together (via US Postal Service). They have one other album out, called "The Future Has Already Been Done"
