This fifteen-year-old, Filipino Virginia Beach native holds nothing back in her new EP, which hashes out a mix of smooth acoustics, both grunge and sweet-sounding melodies, and borderline emo lyrics. Amy St. George takes the unplugged world by the guitar strings, rocking out from the moment she taught herself to play. Her songs, as radio-worthy as a Michelle Branch tune yet as deep and heartfelt as Dashboard Confessional, leave listeners with a lust for more. With the help of her bright blue guitar, Amy has her foot in the door of female rock and roll, and won't stop jamming till she's taken rock to the next level. And from the looks of it, she'll do just that.

Introduction written by:

Mary Judge
Why this name?
I didn't pick it. My mom named me after her older sister in the Philippines and our surname was changed from San Pedro to St. George when my dad moved to the States. Don't ask me why. It's a totally white-girl name if you ask me.
Do you play live?
I do play live if offered the opportunity. The venue doesn't matter, I'll play your backyard if you want me to. Playing live is so awesome while you're up there, and even afterwards you've still got this high. There are two special moments that come to mind when I think about the few times I've played live. When I played at my uncle's wake service, there was a moment where I got the courage to look up from the ground while I was playing and I just saw all these people watching me, smiling with tears in their eyes, and after I finished, my cousins and siblings (who had been playing with me) stood up and there were hugs all around. Also, I played my eighth grade formal, and at one point I looked at my friends, a bunch of six or seven of them, and they were singing along while I played. Then I heard someone yell out, "I LOVE YOU AMY!!" and I just felt so rock star at that moment. Hehe.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Contrary to a lot of other artists and labels, I see the internet as an advantage in the music industry. It allows you to get your music out there for a really small expense, if any at all, and that's great for the musician that's just starting out, or just has a low budget.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definitely, as long as I could still have my artistic freedom and make at least most of my own decisions.
Your influences?
Michelle Branch, Dashboard Confessional, Something Corporate, The Beatles, Straylight Run, AAR, Lisa Loeb, Student*Rick...quite an eclectic mix, isn't it?
Favorite spot?
Gotta be home sweet home, Virginia Beach. There's no beating it.
Equipment used:
Takamine EG560CBS (Sunburst Blue), Roland AC-60 acoustic amp, M-Audio MobilePre USB Preamp and Marshall MXL 990 and 991 mics.
Anything else...?
Shoutouts to my Kemps Landing maggots, especially my orch dorks, and my Tallwood peeps (wow, have you ever heard me use that word?). Love to my sisters, and my best friends (you guys know who you are).
