Convicted is a hard-rock Christian band out of Southern,IL. Members Josh, James, Nick and Ben churn out grinding riffs and emotional lyrics that provoke and inspire Christians and non-Christians alike. Convicted puts a whole new twist on a 2000 year old concept.
Why this name?
Convicted has spiritual meaning. Basically, the name refers to the calling, or "conviction," God puts in our hearts to be saved, or to give direction to our lives as Christians. In short, we were convicted as a band to share God's word and message through a type of music that can be enjoyed by and is easily accessible to Christians and non-Christians alike.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
That depends on whose perspective you look at. For us, a small, up-and-coming band with minimal exposure, it's great! It provides a way to promote an individual's music with out spending the big bucks it takes to promote a new album. However,as much as "big" groups whine and cry about it, one would think that it's killer on the music industry as a whole, but we disagree. There's just something sorta cool about getting a new cd and being able to read the lyrics and check out the album art and what not, and downloading can never change that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most definitely
Band History:
The concept behind Convicted came about when high school sophomores Josh (rhythm guitarist/vocalist) and James (lead guitar) decided it would be a cool idea to start a band. After recruiting another guitar player, a bassist, and a drummer, Convicted was born and began playing high school events and youth rallies. Over the next two years, Convicted would lose their original drummer and bass player (after a short stint on guitar) and acquire current bassist Ben and current drummer Nick. Today, they're still together and going strong. Frontman Ditto says: "We all work well together and have a good chemistry, I feel this line-up will be the one that will take us to the next level."--Well said, my friend, well said.
Your influences?
First and foremost, we give all the glory to God for bestowing these musical gifts upon us and giving us the desire and need to worship Him and give Him praise. As far as music, we draw influence from many rock artists and groups today, such as Disciple...and that's about it really...hmm...
