Why this name?
My parents chose the name when I was too young to object.
Do you play live?
Yes--anywhere and everywhere I can. Yes--I like people. All moments are special.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet may (it's a little early to tell) afford writers a way to get their material to the public apart from the Music Industry. I don't expect it will break the dominance of the Music Industry any more than satellite dishes broke the power of the television networks--but it provides an alternative, and may force the Music Industry on occasion to listen outside its own closed circle.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably.
Band History:
Old enough to know better. Have been writing and performing for 32 years. Rhythm guitarist and one of the songwriters of the Dodson Drifters during that group's brief meteoric climb to stardom in the late 1970s.
Your influences?
Steve Goodman, John Prine, Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, Frank Sinatra, Buck Owens, and Avril Lavigne. (Tells you a lot, doesn't it?)
Favorite spot?
Didn't the Buddha say one should always try to be happy where one is at? Or something like that?
Equipment used:
Old but good guitar. Cheap mike. Cheap amp. No-name but loud banjo. Friends.
