All Living Fear are a well established alternative Rock act in the UK. The band started in the 90s as part of the UKs Gothic Rock scene and have opened for bands such as The Damned, All About Eve, Wayne Hussey, Faith And The Muse, The Birthday Massacre and The Wildhearts to name a few as well as performing many tours as a headline act.

After breaking up at the end of the 90s and then reforming the band have released in total 6 albums, though in 2009 a major line up change resulted in a new band an a totally new direction.
Do you play live?
The band is more or less constantly playing life, a great deal of the bands recent shows have been acoustic, though the band played their first national tour for 11 years in the late winter of 2009 to great acclaim.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens us to a world wide audience, but also to world wide competition, being said my biggest concern is unauthorised sites distribution our music, and in some cases old demos without any permission, we like only the best and in most cases that means recent stuff to be distributed online.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes if it was the right deal.
Band History:
Formed Spt 1992 By Matthew North (Guitar) and Steven Howson (Vocals) playing a few goth covers in a pub. This lead on to the band writing a few songs and playing some gigs before disbanding 6 months later.

Summer 1993 Matthew put together a new band and played some shows most notably supporting legendary US hardcore band Flipper and at the time well known British gothic rock band Nosferatu.

By 1994 Vocalist Andrew Racher was on board and the band soon recorder and released their debut CD Jessica. This 4 Track EP was recorded at Pagan Media studios in Runcorn and featured John Macklin on Drums and Steve Paine on Keybaords both from the progressive rock band Legend.

This followed with shows at venues like The Marquee in London and the first Whitby Gothic weekend festival. The band were also at this point appearing on many compilation CDs mostly in the gothic genre.

Summer 1995 band recorded debut album The Widows Blame (Co mixed by Tim Chandler from Manuskript) and played first Headline UK tour as well as opening up for bands like Dream Disciples, Children On Stun, James Rays Gangwar & Garden of Delight. One show at the Borderline in London was filmed and released on video. The What Sweet Music compilation with the ALF song Crimson is a hit in the clubs.

1996 more touring inc headlining Rock City in Nottingham and performing at the Camden Palace (Koko) where the video for Stranger To None was filmed. The album Minimum Resistance was released almost a year after Widow’s and became the bands fastest selling CD of all. The band played a few live dates with the recently reformed Theatre Of Hate as well as an autumn headline tour.

1997 Yet more touring inc a massive 9 dates on the trot inc the bands first trip to Scotland in may of that year. The band started to hit a brick wall and mid way through the bands autumn tour the band broke up with Andy leaving.

1998 – 2000 Andy is replaced by Paul Roe, ALF tour with the Dream Disciples and Play the Whitby Gothic Weekend as Main support to Faith and the Muse the show was one of the most successful of the band career. Into The Light is released and the band go on tour but suffer a tragedy with the band having a break in to their van half way through and the band make a conscious decision not to tour as much. In 2000 both agree to knock ALF on the head and Matthew and Paul form a new band called Corrosion who are doing rather well at the moment.

2001 Matthew and Andy re form All Living Fear and play many one off shows round the UK and in 2003 release the album Home Too Soon regarded by many as the bands finest work, they supported Wayne Hussey at the Whitby festival and play as main support to a capacity packed gig with the Damned and part of a tour support to All About Eve.

In 2007 to celebrate 15 years of the band, a new album is recorded entitled ‘Fifteen Years After’ re recording some of the bands best songs as well tracks never before recorded for CD and a whole bunch of special guests inc Julianne Regan, Arthur Brown, Christian Riou (Claytown Troupe), Ben Christo (Sisters of Mercy), Steve Bronski (Bronski Beat), Misty Woods (Juju Babies / The Grid) and others. The band also filmed their show at the Whitby Festival and released it in 2009 as the DVD Live In Concert. After a packed out show at the Islington Academy in London in June of 2009 Racher left the band and North put together a new band and is currently writing new material and have recently completed a very successful tour of the UK climaxing with a show opening for US band The Cruxshadows. 2010 will see the band release a new album and play more live shows.
