Supraliminal Jane is an Independant artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada who has been writing, singing, playing, recording and producing her own music for more than 10 years. With a wide range of musical influences behind her, 'Supraliminal Jane' music is versatile, interesting music, that could almost be called folk-punk-electronica. Do you play live?
Supraliminal Jane has played in various venues across Canada. From coffee houses, to bars in Toronto, SJ has seen alot, and alot comes to mind..( you know how people turn into monsters when you're on acid?!..) Every momment is a memory in itself!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Supraliminal Jane beleives that music is an art, not a product. Music should be free.. SJ is NOT Metallica.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'll talk to my lawyer... Let's make a deal!
Band History:
SJ has been involved with music since she was a kid. Throughout school, she sang in her county Elementary School Choir. Vocal, drama, and art school enhanced her musical intrests, and eventually SJ began working with other musicians. Her first experience was playing punk rock with a band was when she was 16 years old. After that, SJ played with band after band trying to find the right combination to explore her exper-i-mental musical nature. Finally, after much searching, SJ decided to go it alone. Independant in nature, SJ has completed her first album, entirely by herself. Everything from the music and lyrics written, to the production and recording of the project has been done entirely by SJ. All instruments and programing, with few exceptions which are listed -are soley created by SJ.

Aphex Twin - Richard D. James, Ani DiFranco, Cranberries, Greatful Dead, Phish, 420, Sublime, The Doors, Alanis Morrisette, Bjork, Simon and Garfunkel, Ween, Ministry, Sex Pistols, Jane's Addiction, Timothy Leary, Pink Floyd, Tragically Hip, Gloria Stienem: The Beauty Myth. Somewhere in between these people and ideas, is SJ.
Favorite spot?
My favourite place in the world is Vancouver Island. Sooo Green!
