A bunch of new tracks from my gap year and my time at Uni have been uploaded. Rough cuts, but still worth checking out

I have been into music as long as I can remember. I play the saxophone, guitar, bass, and piano, I sing and I write my own stuff, music and lyrics. All the drums you hear are sampled, but everything else is my own doing.
I was also the singer/lyricist for the band Earthwire (look em up, should be on soundclick).
Anything marked with (Warwick Demo) is written either in my gap year or during my time at the University of Warwick, and hence is probably recorded on my iPod, extremely roughly. It is literally just getting the ideas down so as not to forget, so the singing isn't great, by and large...
Anyway, enjoy!

Why this name?
That one is kinda down to my parents, unsurprisingly... As for Jimmy K and the Collectibles, it's a bit of a poke at the artificiality of the industry at the moment, and also because I have to change band members every so often.
Do you play live?
Hmm, I play a lot, ready whenever and wherever I have an instrument.
In terms of high points, I have gigged the Royal Albert Hall (London), the Houses of Parliament (London), the London Astoria, Ronnie Scott's (London), and the Berklee Performance Center (Boston).

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I am massively opposed to people downloading music. Not only because I feel it is a serious threat to the future stability of my profession, but because it is ultimately stealing, however much it might not feel like it. Record labels use money they make from successful artists to fund less successful artists. So those less popular artists you like are also somewhat dependent on the big ones you like, which means you're hurting new music by pirating songs. Piracy makes labels more homogeneous, and less able to take risks.
The internet lets people promote their music like never before, which is undoubtedly a good thing, because arguably too much power has historically resided with the labels, and that's changing. The emerging system is more democratic. But with great power comes great responsibility, the responsibility to reward artists for their art, and to permit them to keep making it.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definitely - I would sign with any label or publishing company who I felt were a good fit and would appreciate my music and advance my career.
Band History:
Well, here goes:
Saxophone - 10 years (95-2005, discontinued)
Guitar - 2001 to present (self-taught)
Bass - 2001 to present (self-taught)
Piano - 2006 to present (self-taught).
Singing - forever, but only properly since 2005
I started writing when I got my first acoustic. That was January 2001. Since then I have written around 400 songs, the vast, vast majority of them are inspired by girls. They're not all romantic, but it's safe to say that if you don't like love songs, it's probably best if you leave now. ;)
There have been a few major influences in particular, whom I have to thank for many songs, mostly ex's. No matter how they may have hurt me, I have a lot to thank them for, in some ways at least.
A friend once said you could track my dating history through my music. Looking at it today, I never realised how true that was. I'm happy to discuss my music any time, just send me a message.

Your influences?
Just about as varied as they come. I love everything from glam rock to hip-hop. The genres I can't stand though are MC garage, drum and bass, and any kind of metal where the chords are too distorted to hear.

George Michael
John Mayer
Incubus
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Santana
Queen
My dad
The Darkness
Eminem
Feeder
Goo Goo Dolls
Blink 182
Joni Mitchell
Conner Reeves
Bryan Adams

1 Yamaha Pacifica

1 Custom Made Sims Custom guitar
For my editing/mixing/arranging, I mostly use ProTools and Ableton Live.

Anything else...?
As a heads up, don't always expect fully mixed/recorded tracks. Everything bar the few exceptions are recorded by me in my room, some of them go back to 2001, and some of them are just recorded on an iPhone.
