This band is my one-man band. You remember seeing the one-man bands of the past, a guy playing a trumpet and an accordion with strings from his knees to a bass drum? No? Well I'm not like that, except in spirit! Instead I have a Roland W30 Workstation (a la Prodigy!) and three networked computers. All my output is DIGITAL. I compose, my band plays. When I'm tired, it packs up immediately. There're only ten steps from my practice hall to my bed! The band never complains, doesn't need refreshment, and doesn't go on strike for more pay!
Why this name?
When I'm out of ideas, I take a walk to the beach, and study the sea, which is never the same, always restless, always playing out its intensely complex beautiful story, with sounds for added pleasure.
Do you play live?
I used to from 1959-1965.
It's the greatest feeling in the world - when it happens.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It provides a VAST increase of choice which is balanced, I think, by an increased difficulty of finding what you like. When I was young there were only pop, rock, R&B, country, trad, jazz, classical genres. The industry won't change. It'll still BE either the MAFIA, or people who think they are. They will still be clueless as to the meaning or the making of ART.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, when the cow jumps over the moon. That day.
