The Folkers band

The Folkers

The Folkers band have played for about 10 years together as a small family band of musicians.

Pretty much everyone in the family played some sort of instrument. We play mostly unplugged versions of the classic rock songs. I think our strong points revolve around the Beatles music.

The band members include:

Judy (Kirk) Swarts {Lead Vocals, backing vocals/Guitar}

Jim kirk {Guitar, some Bass}

Jimmy Robbins {Guitar/Vocals/backups}

Wendy Robbins {Backing vocals/ some Bass, percussion}

Jason Robbins {Guitar, drum percussion}

Kate Robbins {Vocals, backing vocals, Bass}

*Dan Kirk {original bass player.} (No longer playing w/us.)

Additonal vocals are by Jennifer Myers.

Why this name?
My uncle Jim Kirk named the band 10 years ago. We were playing a lot of classic songs unplugged.
I still play good ole' rock n roll on electrics once in a while.
Do you play live?
We have played small parties with the folkers.
I myself have played several bars/clubs over the years with different bands.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it is a great way to market your band and give the listeners a new way to hear the music. Computers are here to stay. What a better way to become known?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure
Band History:
We are a family based group who enjoys playing the Beatles and Neil Young songs among the other great musicians' songs.
Your influences?
Acoustic/ unplugged music is very pleasing to the ears. The Beatles, Eric Clapton and Neil Young
Favorite spot?
The Forests of our Earth.
Equipment used:
I play a Takamine Acoustic/Electric guitar.
My brother Jason plays a Guild Flattop.
Anything else...?
We are researching a new name. Any Suggestions?
