Dave's roommate got really drunk one night and wrote on his website: "What I am doing is having a nice time. What it is is Brian and Dave and Vi and there is no bias." To this day, he still has no idea what he was talking about.

Brian and Derek met in 2nd grade and started playing music together in their senior year in high school. They met Dave when they went to college at the University of Washington. They all lived on the same floor of their residence hall and after fall quarter founded the band. They then practiced in Dave's tiny room until he moved to a frat. They continue to practice in their floor's lounge area, to the dismay of other floors.
