Hi, I'm Cindy. In May '05 I graduated from the University of Michigan with my Master's of Music in voice. Here's some music from my grad school audition cd (11/02), undergrad senior recital (4/03), and Master's recital (4/05). It's a measure of progress if nothing else. Enjoy!
I'm now a Lecturer in music at Iowa State University and hopefully planning another recital soon... hopefully more songs to come!

Do you play live?
Love it. My senior recital was one of the best moments of my life thus far.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows me to put my music out there for free public consumption, which is great. I also love the ability to search out a particular song, find 15 versions of it, and download or purchase it singularly.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Well, who wouldn't?
Band History:
I grew up in Hull, Iowa, got my BM from Iowa State University and my Master's from U of M. I'm... relatively sure I'm a high lyric mezzo. Also, I just got my first gig teaching non-majors voice lessons for credit at Iowa State as a Collaborative Instructor. I've now moved up to Lecturer status. It's a very cool opportunity. I also got married in June '07!
Your influences?
I love Susan Graham and Frederica von Stade--voices that do opera beautifully but shine as much if not more so in song recital.
Favorite spot?
Siena, Italy. Though Talinn, Estonia and Riga, Latvia were gorgeous as well.
Anything else...?
I'm looking for any sort of performing opportunities in central Iowa, though they may be few and far between at this point. Shoot me an email for all your mezzo needs. :D
