we are an alternative metal band from blackburn (england)
Why this name?
we chose our band name because one of our friends is in a band called 'the exorsisters', i thought taking a name of a horror film was a good idea so we tookthe name from my favourite horror film which is 'amityville horror' and came up with the name 'the amityvillains'.
Do you play live?
yes, the band all love playing live, we have played at mainly pubs in blackburn, but we have played at the live cafe in manchester and we are going to be playing at Darwen music live festival and blackburn arts in the park festival so i am looking forward to that
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it gets your music known to a wider range of people
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes if the lable and contract were right for us
Band History:
the band formed in sept 2003 and the line up was as follows:-
carley wolstenholme - lead vocals
laura green - backing vocals
jake lewis - lead guitar
anthony thomas - rhythm guitar
neil inman - guitar
chris holden - bass
romano biasone - drums

but due to clashes of personalities and lack of confidence laura green and neil inman have now left the amityvillians. but now all the musicains left are the heart and soul of the band and they all contribute alot of work into getting the sound and look of the band correct

i would not change the line up of the amityvillains now because we are all great friends
Your influences?
there are millions of musical influences from motorhead, black sabbath, metallica, red hot chilli peppers, the stone roses, system of a down to zak wilde, marilyn manson(my favourite) and nightmare visions, ben e king, percy sledge, stevie wonder, micheal jackson, marvin gaye, otis redding, james brown, sly and the family stone, bob marley, sting, led zepplin, the beatles, jethro tull(bassist choice), the maker, the boom town rats, jimi hendrix, herbie hancock. peter frampton, rush, and cream, rolling stones
Favorite spot?
blackburn college, becaus eif it wasnt for blackburn college there would be no band as we were all strangers untill we enlisted on the access to music course
Equipment used:
chris's manhood pet
Anything else...?
we are all mad! and we have had to call ourselves alternative metal because there is no hard rock category
