Why this name?
Old Season was chosen as our band name in 2001, we had several line-up adjustments and it didnt feel right to continue under the old name Karnayna. We have had a song called Old Season which was one of the first songs we ever composed together and we decided that that would be the moniker from which we would be known as in the future...
Do you play live?
yeah we play live all-over Ireland both North and South, wherever we're had basically. We hope to start playing on international stages in the coming months.
Band History:
Old Season are a Heavy Metal band hailing from the hallowed green pastures of Eireann. The band has been in existence in some form or another for a very long time under various different guises but it is only in the last few years that a truly stable line-up has been forged. Taking their cue from the masters of old such as Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Manowar, Candlemass, Judas Priest etc and intertwining that with the haunting, atmospheric depth of 90's European metal stalwarts such as Amorphis, Therion, Samael, Tiamat, Gods Tower, The Gathering etc and creating something truly unique in todays scene. A sound which is neither retro nor contemporary, it is simply "Old Season" classic atmospheric true Heavy Metal. The new Old Season cd "Volume One..." will be realeased on June 12th '04 and this will see the band take to the road for extensive gigging in support of the release. The self produced debut disc will offer the listener an extensive view into the world of Old Season with its ferocious heavyness, beautifully sung melodic heavy metal vocals, eerie and haunting keys, and a True Metal spirit which is hard to find in today's scene..
