Most of the songs on this page will be songs that I wrote and recorded several years ago as songwriter's demos, but they are as relevant today as they were then. They've never been released on or offline before now. If any bands/singers would like to record the songs, please contact me via my other web site: http://www.fractalvsions.co.uk/contact.htm
Why this name?
Because the songs are 'Old News' in that they were recorded some time ago. I hope they may be 'Good News' to some, as they've never been generally available before.
Do you play live?
No - not any more. I used to play and loved most of it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Makes more unsigned music available to more people. Some is good, some is not so good. I hope mine is ok.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly as a songwriter; I'm more interested in getting the songs performed and maybe recorded by someone else though.
Band History:
This band IS history. I was lucky enough to live right out in the country in the UK for several years. I had no neighbours to disturb, and likeminded housemates. It was a very inspiring and productive time for me.
Your influences?
Pink Floyd, Classical Music, Blues, Deep Purple - too many more to mention.
Favorite spot?
Liverpool for its lively scene - the English countryside for it's peace and solitude.
Equipment used:
With the exception of guitar on one or two of the tracks (played by Vic Codd), I used to use Yamaha DX synths (three of them), QX Sequencer, RX drum machines (two), and Roland effects.
Anything else...?
There is a lot of diversity of style in these tracks. I hope that some will at least appeal to some people.
