Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I didn't get that song done during Christmas Break like I said I was hoping to. It's called college and a job. I've been pretty busy with a lot of different stuff, but finally was able to get some time to finish up another track. Be sure to look for it on my music page. The title is "Forward Motion." It's a little drum & bass track. It's in a little different direction for those of you that have listened to some of my other stuff, but it still has that same chill feel. Drum & bass has been a love of mine for some time going back to '97 and it's finally coming out in my music. Enjoy!

I finally finished a new track and its now available for your listening pleasure! I've named this one "Summer Winds", you'll find it on my music page. Surprisingly, this song didn't take me all that long to make. I've added a few surprises in it and I'm encouraging you to post your ideas on my message board if you think you know what they are. Anyways, back to the topic of music production, I plan to pull a song out of the archive and finish it up soon, so be on the look out for another song in the near future. I'm hoping to have it done while I'm on Christmas Break, but I can't make any promises.

I've started college and well...I'm finding that I have very little time to do much composing anymore, however do not be dismayed. During the summer and during the past week I've been working on a few tracks. I can't guarantee a release date, but I thought it would be worthwhile to let you guys know that I’m still creating stuff and that I haven't given up on the music.

Inspired by such artist as Rae & Christian, Jazzanova, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Les Gammas, Minus 8, and many others of the electronic jazz scene, G. Allen decided to take matters into his own hands and start creating the music he loved in early 2002. G. Allen combines jazz styled piano with vibes, rhodes, strings, and synthesizers to make impressive grooves.
Why this name?
The name G. Allen comes from the inital of my first name of Gabriel and my middle name Allen.
Do you play live?
Unforunately I don't play live, I compose on the computer therefore bringing my music to life on stage wouldn't be very exciting.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and mp3 has brought music to more people and allowed amature or unsigned artists to get their names out to a large audience without the recording company. In additon while both the internet and the avaiblity of free mp3s via the internet has reduced music sells, people now have greater volumes of music than ever before.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would never sign a record contract with a major label because I don't intend to pursue a career in music, it's simply a hobby for me.
Your influences?
Kruder and Dorfmeister, Thievery Corporation, Royksopp, Dzhian & Kamien, Rae and Christian, Jazzanova, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Les Gammas, Minus 8, Atjazz, Sven Van Hees, Nuyorican Soul, Brazilified, Truby Trio, Zero 7, Solaris Heights, Beanfield, and other artist from Compost Records.
Favorite spot?
San Diego, California. America's finest city, no place like it on earth.
