Stygian is a mystifying, unique ambient/atmospheric project devised to stimulate a listener's senses. Stygian uses elements from various forms of music including classical, baroque, and ambient; and combines them into unique arrangements and soundscapes.
Why this name?
Stygian is based on Greek mythology; it is the land surrounding the River Styx.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is a great think for musicians all across the web, and internet distribution is a great way to get music across to music fans. I think the artist should have the sole responsibility of where their property is distributed on the internet, but I strongly support artists putting mp3s to get their music out.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most certainly, if such a label offered a great deal of artistic freedom similar to my own style and influences.
