Davenche & Snake (dynamic duo) and "part time sidekick", J-Dub form the super Hip Hop trio known as FAMLI TIES. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, FAMLI TIES is destined to be the 90's era Chicago Bulls of Hip Hop. Led by their all star track producer Davenche, this triple threat, has arranged, mixed and produced the groups recently mastered album, titled Training Days.
Davenche, the co-founder of FAMLI TIES says, "Chicagoans really don't have anyone in the
Hip Hop industry to support. There is R-Kelly, but he's R&B and not Hip Hop. We want to greatly assit putting Chicago on the map like the East Coast, West Coast and the Dirty South are on the map.
There is a lot of talented artist in Chicago that are going unnoticed."
FAMLI TIES started back in 1999, with the two original members Snake and Davenche freestyle battling on the job at Burger King. The two decided to form a group called Furious Tragedy. J-Dub, only 12 at the time, now 17, would hang out in the studio secretly writing, while his older sister Ivy (P.I.) and brother, Davenche, laced tracks created by producers formerly called the Twins. When the Twins began demanding to much for their tracks, Davenche, a struggling college student at the University of Illinois was forced to produce his own tracks for the group. With each of the members chipping in to build a studio, J-Dub approached Davenche and asked to be put on a song. Davenche was so impress with J-Dub's "...Street to the Front Page Lyrics" that he asked him to join Furious Tragedy. Through the creation of their music the trio grew closer together and rightly renamed themselves FAMLI
TIES to indicate the family like bond between them.
FAMLI TIES was performing at local parties throughout the Chicago land area, before getting
radio air play on Chicago's 102.3 FM, in May of 2003, with their track "Love Ones," one of the tracks that shows the diversity of the group. Davenche says, "The track is dedicated to those who have lost someone personal in their life and teaches that death isn't just about mourning but also about the celebration of life and moving on to a bigger, better and greater existence."
FAMLI TIES plans for the future include solidifying heavy rotation on the radio as well as expanding their local fan base by booking more shows in the Chicago land area.

Why this name?
Famli Ties represents the bond between the members of the group. We are closer than most brothers are to each other.
Do you play live?
We've done a couple of shows throughout the Chicago area. Our most special moment was headlining a concert called "DA Show" by B.L.A.X Inc back in October of 2003.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet makes more music available and you are not just stuck to what is played on the radio. You now have a large variety of music from all around the world that is a click away. Also, we can expand our fan base to countries over-seas without buying a plane ticket.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't think there are too many artist out there who would turn down a record deal from a major label if the terms are right. There is a business side to the music undustry that we can't afford to ignore, unless you already have an establish fan base supporting you financially.
Band History:
Headliner of "Da Show" - October 2003 Subterranean Night Club, Chicago, Illinois.
Your influences?
We are big fans of Jay-Z, Just Blaze, Kanye West and P. Diddy (all great businessman). Each artist has attributed greatly to the growth of Hip Hop, lyrically and production wise, we plain to continue that growth.
Favorite spot?
There is no place like home, Chicago. You have everything you could ever need right here.
