October Sky is a stage name I call my acoustic solo act. The songs made are just songs I write on my acoustic and thought why not post it on the net in hope for people to enjoy listening to them as much as I do :).. October Sky has been official for around 2 months, I'm not expecting it to shake the world hehe as every musician wants to, but rather touch hearts..
Why this name?
I chose the band name October Sky because I've always thought band names with a month of the year or day of the week was cool. hehe I don't know why I chose October, but I did..And the the word Sky to link on to October is because the sky in October is like none other, so ever blue in the day, and pink as the sun sets..
Do you play live?
I've only played live once at a bar called Mojos in Fremantle, it's a great venue!! I enjoyed it heaps and look forward to my next performance where ever it may be..But I'm not in it so much for the live acts, but I'll do any act for no cost!!! Im in it for the music, not the money..
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It lets people know who's out there, and gives exposure to bands that lack it (such as myself hehe) ..
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
HELL YES!!! I've always wanted to be under a record label, huge or not, just the fact of getting some where. Thats the problem these days, bands are picky and take for granted the many offers they may recieve from record labels..I just want people to hear my music and show the world what I've seen..
Your influences?
My influences are all around me...Every where I go im influenced to write music..But in the music industry wise, Dashboard Confessional is my main influence, I admire what he does, and how he can express himself through just a guitar and singing.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot in the whole entire world would have to be the beach!!! I love playing my acoustic and singing to the waves and the scenery of beach, its so serene and feels so right, a perfect atmosphere...Singing to the sun set...nothing in the world like it.
Equipment used:
I use a Martinez acoustic Guitar with D'Addrio heavy gage strings and Shure microphones.
