Rich O'Reilly first picked up the bass at the age 13. By the time he was 17, he was playing the local club scene in the greater Boston area. For the next 25 years he honed his skills as a much sought-after freelance bassist.
He continued to play the New England club scene performing with many of the top rock, blues and jazz bands. Making way for his bands to become headliners, he opened for many national acts including Tommy Castro and Duke Robillard, in venues such as The House Of Blues in Cambridge, MA and The Last Call Saloon in Providence, RI.
In 2003, Rich took a break from years of the club scene to pursue his own writing ambitions. During this period, he fine tuned his acoustic guitar playing and set up his home studio. He has since written, recorded, and produced 4 original CDs from this studio. Most recently released is his 2008 endeavor, Thunderhill.
In addition to writing and performing his own material, Rich keeps busy in the live music scene by accepting freelance bass work as well as 2 Jazz acts in the Boston/Providence area. All a labor of love for this 30 year music veteran.
