Pirate rock, funk jazz, homemade instruments, splintered drumsticks and wounded trashcans.
Yeti on a Budget is from Ames, Iowa. Check out www.yetionabudget.com for assorted stories, info, and traditional Himalayan folk songs.
Why this name?
From a Yeti who is not exactly poor, but a little shabby, not exactly tight-fisted, but a bit stingy.
Do you play live?
We love playing live more than anything, our favorite spots are Bali Satay House and Little Kuba's Shantytown. If you come to our show and want to be in a song, it will happen. It may happen anyway.
Band History:
Corey and Jeff started jamming with Wally because he had a barn. Jeff started playing guitar about an hour before the band was formed. Everyone developed a crush on each other, especially Jeff on Corey. Jason, drummer extraordinaire, joined in April.
Your influences?
Primus, Ween, Flaming Lips, Phish
Equipment used:
70s combo organ, cigar box guitar, some choicely selected steel drums, trashcans and washboards.
