*COLD VIBE INTERVIEW... thanks to you all for helping me, you know who you are*
-
Q. How long have you been rapping?

A. Well, I started in 8th grade... I remember I thought I was really good, but I wasnt very good at all. I kept writing stuff down, and i slowly got better... just look at me now, Im a lot better than I used to be!

Q. What is 'Cold Vibe'... is it a band?

A. No, Cold Vibe is just my rap name. A couple of my friends and I were thinking of a good rap name for me, and we pretty much just came up with random things... then 'Cold Vibe' popped into my head, and I chose that name because 'Cold Vibe' is kinda like... I dont know, when I rap it sends chills down your spine, you know?

Q. What rappers influence you?

A. Almost all rappers influence me... I pretty much learned how to rap by listening to other rappers. I studied how they put together their music, how to start at the right place, how to flow right depending on the beat your rapping to... so yea, almost all rappers. Mostly Jay-Z, Freeway, Lloyd Banks, The Game, and Tupac Shakur.

Q. What inspired you to start rapping?

A. I started listening to rap music, right... I really liked the music, and I guess I just wished I could know how to rap as good as them. So I tryed it out, and I wasnt too great. Thats why I kept at it, slowly got better and better, and look where I am now.

Q. If you could roll with one rapper who would it be?

A. Thats the hardest question I've ever been asked, haha... Hmmm.... Im gonna have to say Lloyd Banks. That would be a dream come true, to be able to hang out and talk to him. [I would like to] ask him how he comes up with his rhymes, and if I could, drop a track with him!

Q. Where do you get the words to rap about? Are they feelings?

A. Most of the stuff I rap about... isnt true. Almost all rappers lie about what they say in their songs, and Im not gonna bullshit about it. But Ive been recently writing more true material, so maybe some people can relate to it. And yes, most of the material I write about is from my feelings. I grew up in a small apartment, we didnt have too much money. After I fell when I was a kid, thats when my teeth got f***ed up. Lots of people still talk sh*** about my teeth, how they are so crooked, how I have buck-teeth... but you cant let that sh*** get to you, you know? My dad is never there for me, not even to this day. All he does is sit around and get drunk, I mean he goes to the bar EVERY SINGLE DAY, no matter what. My grandma is the most supportive person in my family, she always buys me shit, takes me places... she has always been there for me. And thanks for that diamond earring for my 15th birthday grandma!

Q. What kind of rapping do you do? Do you battle or keep it to yourself?

A. I rarely battle or freestyle. Ive battled probably 5 times, and I won all of them except one. In my opinion im not that great at freestyling, thats why I dont do it so often. So yea, I mostly keep it to myself... but when Im writing stuff, I freestyle in my head and if its good I jot it down. Thats pretty much how I write my lyrics.

[MORE INTERVIEW ANSWERS COMING SOON]
Why this name?
See introduction.
Do you play live?
No, I do not play live yet. I will be having some public shows as soon as possible. If I am going to have a show, I will post it here first.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is pretty much a place to get songs and albums for free, pretty much ripping off the respected artists and labels. I feel that every free music program should be shut down, because every person that is using these programs is costing the artists money.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would like to get signed with a label. I need this a lot right now, I dont have much money which is why my song quality isnt that great. I dont record in a studio, I record at my house.
Band History:
None, I have just entered the rap game.
Your influences?
See introduction.
Favorite spot?
San Diego, California.
Anything else...?
F*** all you haters. Yall better back the f*** up and quit talking shit. To everyone that supports me, thank you very much. Holla!
