T.A.G. - The Almighty Grind
NEWS   T.A.G. Clinches Warped Tour Competition in Hollywood... Headed to Warped Tour to perform on June 24th in Ventura, California.
International Recording Artist The Almighty Grind (a.k.a. T.A.G.)
Why this name?
We tried many names, but most of them were taken. Since we're avid extreme sports fans, we chose a name that echoed the content of the lyrics in some of our songs. Plus, we're all employed, hard-working guys. The name is also a reference to the daily grind we all face in our work and professional lives.
Do you play live?
We play throughout southern California, but have consistently played in Hollywood, and the surrounding L.A. Basin.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yes. Listenners can sort through all of the crappy music that many artists put on their albums just to sell them. Artists are now forced to come up with innovative, creative songs that appeal to more people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not sure. As a band, we've had many successes without the help of a major label. And, with the internet, our music is now available to everyone in the world. If the right opportunity came along, we'd consider it. But, at this time, we're content with what we're doing.
Band History:
Songs from latest album featured in over 17 different episodes of MTV's Real Word and Road Rules, as well as numerous extreme sports videos and television shows aired nationally and internationally on networks such as Blue Torch, EXPN and Fuel. Compositions also being featured in Major Motion Pictures such as 'Little Athens' by Legaci Pictures, and 'Impact' by Warren Miller Productions. The band actively writes 'spots' for radio and television commercials via contacts they have in the industry, and is currently negotiating song licensing in major video games and cell phone apps across mulitple platforms. Please email or call for performance and/or interview availability, or song licensing and creation.
Your influences?
We are influenced by everybody, musically, politically, and socially... Our music is a statement of our times, and a reflection of our past and present. The beauty of our music stems from the many different styles we bring to the table, and that emerge in our songwriting and playing.
Favorite spot?
Hollywood, California.
Equipment used:
It depends on which one of us you are referring to. Trayd (Trade) uses Ibanez Basses and Gallien Kruger heads powering Ampeg Cabs. Fern and Mike use Marshall cabs... Each one of them has his own personal head and effects rack... Kev uses Yamaha drums and Sabian cymbals. A.D.S. uses AKG wireless mic systems. We typically use whatever is reliable. Most of the sponsors we mention above have shown a consistent degree of reliability through our use.
Anything else...?
Thanks to everyone who stops to give us a listen. We're sort of an acquired taste, but we're sure that, once you give us a listen, you'll agree that our music is unique and unusual. Thanks again!
