Do you play live?
I sing every week, sometimes 6 dates in one week. I travel to FL, AZ, TX, OK, KY, NE, CO, IA, ID, WA, OR, CA, NM, IN, PA, MI, MO, AR, NC, WV, SD, WY, GA, MS, AL, OH, TN, Canada, Mexico, a few I probably left out and will be going to Asia for a month next year.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I love the access. The internet has given independents access to a world market. The new buck a song is fair. I think even free downloads have made people 300% more addicted to music and probably propped up other sales. It certainly has been a wonderful tool to promote new talent.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. I go perform, create a demand and fill it at my table afterwards. I don't need to have to pay label rates for my wholesale product. I buy it for what they pay to manufacture it without their markup. My table product is actually more important than anything they could offer me. I also sell on the web and from radio and TV exposure. It works...It's a living...And I love it! I am very thankful to make a living with my music and ministry!
Your influences?
Bill Gaither, Cathedrals, Gold City, Carroll Roberson, Ricky Nelson, Beatles, Imperials, Oak Ridge Boys, Don Williams, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Southern Gospel Music, Country Music, Contemporary Christian Music.
Favorite spot?
My Home, Galion, Ohio. I also love Stanley, Idaho- Table Rock Lake, MO- Republic, Washington- Las Cruces, NM- Colorado Springs- and San Diego.
