Welcome to the world of Phoenix Fire Down
Where musical classifications fall to the wayside and cultural barriers are broken. Where faith and music are not meant to be kept apart, but to compliment each other. Where all are welcome regardless of who you are, what you do, or what musical "scene" you affiliate yourself with. Welcome to our reality

Why this name?
The name was originally thought of as a song title, but we decided that it would make a cool band name. We used to be called Freefall, but decided we liked Phoenix Fire Down better
Do you play live?
We'll play anywhere that will have us, though most over 18 clubs or bars are restricted because we have a 15 year old drummer. But if you are a promoter in the Montreal area whose looking for a band and can live with that restriction, then feel free to contact us
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has definitely given indie bands a bigger opportunity to be heard. I think that it will help seperate the true artists from those that are just in it for the money.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It's our dream to make this band full time, so the answer would have to be.....YES!
Band History:
In summer the summer of 2003 Phoenix Fire Down began the way most bands do....a bunch of bored kids decided to pick up some intruments and set out on quest to make noise and rock the masses! In this particular instance the kids in question were Tommy Phoenix, Troy Cunningham, and Tim Blais on bass, guitar/vocals, and drums, respectively. The trio took on the name of Freefall, and began composing original material as early as their first practice. Orignally influenced by the current crop of nu-metal and hard rock bands that were allready on their way out, the band soon decided to pursue more of an underground post-hardcore sound akin to Boy Sets Fire, Underoath, Thrice and many other bands of the sort. Santino Rodi was soon added on bass with Tommy switching to guitar. Since the sound had changed drastically since the band's conception, it was decided that a new name was needed and Freefall became Phoenix Fire Down. With these changes in place the band set out to rock Montreal and the surrounding areas with their intense, fun live show. Howver, more changes were soon to come, the latest being the departure of Santino and his replacement by Felipe Oliveira. Brace yourselves, because the Phoenix is soon to take flight, leaving a trail of ash and destruction in it's path!
