In the words of J'Wan: "Music is not just what I do, it's who I am."
Why this name?
J'Wan is my given name. My grandmother combined 2 of our family names.
Do you play live?
Right now I'm in the studio but I have performed live around the DC area. I just love the reaction of the crowd when they enjoy what I'm doing. It's an indescribable feeling.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If a label offered the right deal, of course.
Band History:
"Music is not just what I do... it's who I am." Those are the words of J'Wan. She's been singing ever since she can remember. She hit the stage for the first time at the age of 11 and has never looked back. By the mid-90's she was rockin stages around DC/MD and VA as a solo artist, then later as keyboardist and singer for a band called Ginuine (pronounced like singer Ginuwine, but no affiliation). After Ginuine went their seperate ways, some of the girls got back together and formed a new band called Royalty.
Royalty remained together for some time, but went their seperate ways before 2000. J'Wan continued to sing, write, and perfect her craft even though there were no shows scheduled. she took some time off to concentrate on being a mom. Now she's more than ready to come back.
J'Wan is currently working on solo material, and you can expect her album Forever Young to drop in the summer of 2007. She's also restructuring her company JYMstone Entertainmet. Listen out for J'Wan's single later this year. Hit her up at jymstone_music_llc@yahoo.com if you are an artist, fan, or just want to know more about JYMstone Entertainment.
