Greetings all! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Donna Lynn Brewer and I am a songwriter whose dream is to write for other artists! Why this name?
Actually it is kinda silly!!! My pen name as an author is "Brewer," and the reason is because I LOVE the smell of coffee brewing! You know what's funny though? I don't drink coffee!!!! As for the Donna Lynn, well that's My real first and middle name!!!!!!
Do you play live?
I am just now embarking on trying to speak live and sing live. I don't know if I like it yet. I am a bit nervous about it. Once I get some special moments I will write about them!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I thnk it is terrific, and I think it gives up-and-coming artists a better chance to be heard! I LOVE IT!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Well, to be honest, what I wish and have always wished, even at 8 years old, is that I could write for other people. I LOVE for someone to come to me and say HEY DONNA I have an idea for a song but don't know where to go from here, and I need your help. I also have SEVERAL (try 3 or 4 hundred!) notebooks full of songs that I wish I could get to certain artists. But, ya know, God willing.. it will happen!!!
Band History:
I wrote my first song at eight years of age, and I have always loved acting as well. I am a published writer, and enjoy playing the piano and producing my own music.
Your influences?
My family jokes that I am lost too much in the 80's! I love the more zany songs of Amy Grant "back in the day," and I am very impressed with bands like Point of Grace, FFH, and most of all, the Newsboys. I hope that I can write at least one song for each of them someday. Wow! I get weak in the knees just "thinking" about doing something like that!!!!!
Favorite spot?
I LOVE the Jefferson Memorial in DC. BEAUTIFUL at night with the lights reflecting on the water.. I also LOVE Six Flags over Texas!!!! Thrill rides.... I could spend all day there, and have MANY times!
Equipment used:
piano, synthesizers, myself, sound effect boards - and yes, sometimes the all too familiar "band in a box" but ya know.... ya gotta start somewhere!

Hey, I want to talk serious for a moment to anyone reading this that is hurting or feeling a deep set regret for something they've done that they can't change. My friend I have been there. I made some horrible life decisions that led me to a homeless shelter for nine months. I thought God had left me, oh but friend He didn't leave me and I promise you He has not left YOU! Keep the faith and email me for ANYTHING at all and I will do my best to encourage you. I will pray with you and share my story, and hopefully instill some comfort in you to overcome the pain.
