Hello,
I'm Mike Rice. I'm an aspiring composer in Cincinnati, Ohio. I compose lots of different genres, and Limiter is my virtual band for my Metal and Industrial pieces. Everything I have recorded was done entirely on Keyboards and computer, but most sound pretty convincing as bands. Hopefully, some day a real band will perform my songs. I could use some help from a lyricist too.
Why this name?
I was using "limits" as an album title, and using my own name for the band. But here on soundclick, I wanted to keep my classical, metal, and techno pieces under different band names. So Limits became Limiter.
Do you play live?
No. My setup isn't really portable. (the PC.)Aside from showing off once in a while, I really like spending my time writing new songs. I don't practice my old stuff much.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, It looks like I have my chance here. We'll see how it turns out.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
A paycheck would be nice. I could spend my whole day writing instead of waiting til after work.
Your influences?
Rush, Metallica, Tori Amos, Joe Satriani, Nine-Inch-Nails, Queensryche, Judas Priest.
Favorite spot?
On my Motorcycle
Equipment used:
Ensoniq SQ-1, Roland SoundCanvas, PC with soundblaster Live! soundcard.
