My name is Brendan Moran. I play Post Rock, Instrumental/Alternative Rock, Progressive, Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Blues, and General World. I am playing all the instruments and singing all the parts unless otherwise noted in the individual song description.
Why this name?
If I could change this band name, I would, but Soundclick doesn't seem to offer an option for that. I made this Soundclick when I was about 13, and managed to misspell "Appellation." Wonderful!
Your influences?
Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Sufjan Stephens, Muse, John Coltrane, The Derek Trucks Band, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, Sufjan Stephens, Mogwai, The Allman Brothers Band, Miles Davis, Jeff Beck, Cannonball Adderley, Dave Bruebeck, Coldplay, Radiohead, Pink Floid, Jimi Hendrix, BB King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

This stuff is all on the softer side, but all the songs have their heavier parts. I'm a fan of dynamics and building throughout a song or album.
Favorite spot?
Charleston, SC; Doylestown, PA; Nashville, TN; Wilmington, NC
Equipment used:
As you go back to the older recordings on my music page, the recording quality declines, and I've just been teaching myself and learning from experience over the years. All of the older stuff on the site is done with a bare-bones set up, I didn't even have a real mike. Some of my more recent and higher quality work, as far as production goes, are these: A Tale to and From You, What Peace Greets You, A Battle for the Breath and Light of Life, Welcome Me Home, Together All People Look to Another, Built-in Features, In a Bright Wide Place. Some of these are soon to be remixed, so stay posted.

Now, I have just gotten a new interface, so in the very very near future all the recordings I put up (all those following the ones I just listed) will be recording using the PreSonus Firestudio Project. It is a 10x10 interface with 8 mic preamps. So far I've only got two mics, a cheap MXL condenser pack, consisting of the 990 and 991. As far as my DAW, I'll be running either Cubase or Logic, haven't decided yet. So, I'm hoping for a great boost in quality with the upcoming recordings.
