Things Change
Hello there! Thanks for coming to look at our page, we're Biplane and we play Alternative Rock music. We are a four piece band from around York; Caroline sings and plays guitar, Andy plays lead guitar, Jamie plays bass and Richard drums.
Why this name?
We chose our bandname because the ones we had before weren't very good, and Sopwith Camels used to be made a few miles from where Andy and Jamie live so we thought that it would be a good choice.
Do you play live?
We play live as often as possible, The Junction pub does an Acoustic Night every 3rd Friday so we go and play there - we've played a few other gigs aswell, and we absolutely love it. The best moment was probably when we played at a Battle of The Bands in York as total unknowns and got a really good reception.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that the internet changes the music industry in a way because people can search for the songs or artists which they want to listen to, instead of being force fed things that the companies think you should listen to.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, probably!
Your influences?
We're influenced by bands such as The Pixies, Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins; I'd also say bands like The Who, Led Zeppelin and Steamhammer make up a part of who we are too.
Favorite spot?
Probably York, it's a great place and the only city we have played in so far!
