Rachel and Taylor are a brother/sister duo from the Midwest. They have interesting melodies, strong vocals, and introspective lyrics that catch many listener's ears.
Why this name?
The name 'Stage Fright Remedy' came about as Rachel and Taylor were reminiscing of life, and how it seems as though in life, everyone is always on display, or on 'stage.' With this comes many fears and doubts. The remedy is different for everyone, but in order to find it we feel that the important thing is to look inside and know yourself. A lot of our songs focus on these themes of introspection.
Do you play live?
We have played at a lot of local open-mics with other local artists. We've had a couple paying shows. Some memorable moments were the first few days after we put our songs online. We were shocked and pleased at the positive feedback we received.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it possible for smaller, independent artists (like us!) to get their music heard. Things are more about the music.
Your influences?
Our sound draws from several influences. Taylor was inspired by Dashboard Confessional to start playing the guitar, so many of the guitar parts are reminiscent of the earlier acoustic Dashboard stuff. Rachel's voice is often compared to Michelle Branch or Jewel. When hearing our songs, many people say a mix between Dashboard Confessional, John Mayer, Michelle Branch, and something else added in that is a little different.
Favorite spot?
There's no place like home.
