Gwen Walker has been singing for over 20 years. She started singing in church at a very young age. A little while ago, Gwen felt God calling her to minister through her music. Now she is trying to go where God opens the doors for her.
Do you play live?
I sing with accompaniment tracks. I have never sang with a live band - it is just nothing I was ever really interested in doing. I enjoy singing live at different churches and functions around Central Louisiana.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is a wonderful evangelical tool. You are able to minister to people all over the world even when you cannot go to that place. It is amazing!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not so sure about the recording contract. If that is what God led me to do then yes. Still, it would be something I'd have to really pray about and know for sure before getting involved.
Your influences?
I grew up listening to Southern Gospel. My influences are Candy Hemphill, Susie Luchsinger, Kim Hill, Sheri Easter. There are just so many that it would be impossible to list all of them.
Anything else...?
I am anticipating growth in my ministry and would love to come minister at your church.
