Band History:
What started off act for a talent show for three guys in grade school soon became the lives of four musically inclined high school students. In grade school “Drive Like Fire” was popularly known as “Fletch 89” (well popular only to those
desperate 5th graders that wanted them), Eric Bailey (guitar/vocals), Corey Kauzlaric(bass/vocals), and Adam Derza(drums) were the three pieces to the puzzle. “Fletch 89’s” once a
month get together soon became a weekly deal, and became a very important factor in all three boys lives. High School then erupted which lead to more name changes. From Fletch 89, to For Sale, to then just plain Fletch. The band then finally
decided that Corey sucked, bad. So, one day they all got together and spawned a complete Justen Gombac to replace Corey at Bass, so then Corey can kick ass at guitar (the name Gombac which we gave Justen came about from the initials “Generated Out [of] Men, Bailey, Adam and Corey). After this, “For Sale/Fletch” started writing tons of original music, and played numerous gigs, but their last was to be
played July 5th of 2003. After that date, the band encountered problems left, right and down (Down only because Derza realized he had lost his manhood). The band split for a few months and reunited at the start of sophomore year. They changed their name to “Just Like Today”, but before anyone can say anything they had yet ANOTHER name change, which was officially set to
"Drive Like Fire". They now have a more creative and inventive sound to their music. “Drive Like Fire” is a band to watch out for the next few years. They will continue with their love for music and the success they have encountered with it.
