"Focus" was established in 1989. Over the last 14 years we have performed at various church functions, long term care facilities and summer time events in the park. Originally the group consisted of a duo. Then in 2003 a 3rd part harmony was added. She also was an accomplished pianist. Hence the name change...now we are fondly know as "In Focus".Jerri sings soprano,Nancy sings alto, and Diana is 3rd part harmony, sometimes high soprano and sometimes 2nd alto.
Why this name?
Our focus is not on ourselves but on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When we are "in focus" we are in the center of God's will for our lives.
Do you play live?
We enjoy sharing our music with all ages. The joy that comes from sharing our music is the high point of our ministry.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
mp3's are the newest way to listen to and download music of all kinds. Someday we will be trying to explain what a record or cassette tape was and how it worked.(Think about explaining 8 tracks or 45's and other vinyls.)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depending on the offer and the requirements.
Your influences?
The major influences have been country and folk style. Some of the groups that have been most influential have been groups like The Oak Ridge Boys, Amy Grant, Evie, Susan Ashton, Philips Craig & Dean, Point of Grace, and Go Fish.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere that is untouched by human development.
