KayJay is a nickname taken from her full name Katie-Jane.

KayJay has performed live, both lead and backing vocals for various commercial selling artists such as; Lemar, Sterephonics, Westlife, Lisa Stansfield, Alexander O'Neal & Shola Ama to name a few! KayJay has performed at most types of venues; pubs, clubs, restaurants, wedding receptions, corporate functions, festivals and major concert venues etc. Most notably KayJay has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, the Jazz Cafe, Hammersmith Apollo, The Shepherd's Bush Empire, Birmingham NEC & Glastonbury amongst others. KayJay has performed overseas on cruise ships and has toured Europe extensively.

Record sales have slumped, record companies have lost control - so now Artists have many more opportunities to get their music heard. However, the downside of this is that piracy is more prevalent. Will this change with DRM? It's an interesting time...

Yes. I am not adverse to major labels, as long as my deal works for me creatively, artistically and pays me what is expected for a serious artist with longevity in mind - I would be very happy!!

KayJay has been influenced musically and vocally by Artists such as; Ella Fitzgerald, Denice Williams, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Chante Moore, Aaliyah, Mary Mary, Alicia Keys, Kelly Price, India Arie amongst many others.

KayJay loves Cape Town - her family ancestors originate from here. Since the abolition of Aparthied Cape Town has grown both economically and culturally and is welcoming, diverse, exciting, relaxing and stunningly beautiful.
KayJay also loves Barcelona, Prague, The Caribbean, Lyon in France & has a "thing" for New York - but hasn't been yet!

KayJay has only one request - that she performs live with an Sure SM58 Beta microphone!

KayJay also managed a Disco Vocal Duo "Sweetest Taboo" who performed regularly at various functions.
KayJay also taught vocal performance and music business both privately and as part of Access To Music.
KayJay is also completing her final year at Westminster University studying for a Masters in Music Business Management.
