ThirdWorldProject is a funk/soul band from manila, philippines. currently (two songs to go!) recording an independent album featuring maegan aguilar, sach castillo, j-hoon, chris mazo, and saxophone player rastem eugenio.
Why this name?
it popped out of nowhere and it just stuck... it can also mean that we are part of a project to spread original filipino music to the rest of the world but that's just too cheesy.
Do you play live?
Since the members are currently in other bands, and the singers are all established solo artists, ThirdWorldProject only plays once a year, in August.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
it doesnt, we've been swapping music among peers for years... Perhaps it has changed the magnitude at which music is broadcast. i think the internet changed the definition and limitations of the word "peer."
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
no.
