Quandary is a combination of Ambient, Trance and New Age music. Each track kind of fits into its own little category. Our first disc, "The Riddle of Ancient" has sold well online and received good reviews. It's 7 tracks at about an hour in length.
Why this name?
It just kind of came to me.
Do you play live?
No. Strictly just recording music at this point.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yes. It's revolutionizing the industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. I think it's a bit easier to get your name out there.
Band History:
Got into dabbling with loop based programs about 2000. Next I bought a couple small grooveboxes and started creating my own loops. Next I bought a Korg Karma which became the brain of my musical output. This is the workstation were I started to compose the 7 tracks that made up the debut album. Since then, I've been at work on the 2nd release.
Your influences?
Robert Rich, Oceania, Robbie Robertson, Tulku, Ali Farka Toure, Caul, Sanctum, Parca Pace, David Arkenstone, Earth Trybe, Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Gus Gus, Deep Forest, Enigma, Inlakesh, Warumpi Band, Issa.
Favorite spot?
Don't really have one. Always wanted to visit the Pyramids or Australia.
